Functionality

The DAT2105-2W performs several essential functions:

  • Measures and linearizes the temperature characteristic of RTD sensors.
  • Converts linear resistance variations.
  • Converts voltage signals, including those from potentiometers connected to its input.

The measured values are transmitted via the 4-20mA output loop, based on the configured settings. The device ensures high accuracy and performance stability over time and across temperature variations.

Configuration

Configuration of the DAT2105-2W is straightforward and must be done without powering the device. Use the CVPROG cable to connect to the Micro-USB port on the front side of the transmitter. Configuration is performed using the DATAPRO software, developed by DATEXEL, compatible with Windows™ operating systems.

For resistance and RTD sensors, the device allows for 3-wire cable compensation. Users can set minimum and maximum values for input and output ranges, maintaining the minimum span specified in the datasheet. An alarm option for signal interruption (burn-out) is available, allowing the output value to be set high or low out of scale.

Additional Features

  • Damping Function: Programmable filter up to 30 seconds to smooth out fast input signal variations.
  • Manual Adjustment: Optional front-side potentiometers for on-field signal adjustment (-POT option).
  • Compact Design: Housed in a 12.5 mm thick plastic enclosure, suitable for DIN rail mounting per EN-50022 and EN-50035 standards.

User Instructions

Output Measurement: The 4-20mA output signal can be measured in the power loop, as detailed in the "Output/Power Supply Connection" section.
Input Connections: Ensure proper connections as shown in the "Input Connection" section.
Device Configuration: Refer to the "Configuration" section for detailed instructions.

The DAT2105-2W is an ideal solution for applications requiring reliable conversion of potentiometer signals to a standardized 4-20mA output, ensuring precise control and monitoring in industrial environments.
