The DAT10018 Modbus RTU Converter is an 8-channel input module designed to acquire signals from thermocouples and millivolt sources and make them available on a Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII network. It is the higher-density version of the DAT10016, offering twice the number of channels for applications that require more measurement points.
The DAT10018 supports a wide range of thermocouple types, including K, J, R, S, B, E, T, and N. For millivolt signals, it accepts ranges of ±50 mV, ±100 mV, and ±250 mV, providing flexibility for low-level voltage measurements in addition to thermocouple inputs.
The device provides 1500 Vac galvanic isolation between inputs, outputs, and power supply, eliminating ground loops and ensuring safe operation in harsh industrial environments. The power supply input also features reverse polarity protection to safeguard against wiring errors.
