General Description

The isolated frequency converter DAT4540R measures frequencies up to 20 kHz from TTL, Namur, NPN, PNP, and Tachometer digital signals. Depending on the programming, the measured values are converted into a current or voltage signal. Additionally, two relays are available for programming as trip alarms (version “-R”). For the Namur input, the integrity of the sensor is continuously checked; in case of fault (short circuit or interruption), an alarm is generated on the transistor output.

The device guarantees high accuracy and performance stability over time and temperature variations. The programming can be done using the dip-switches located in the window on the side of the enclosure, allowing selection of the input type, range, and output type without recalibrating the device. Users can also program all device parameters via PC according to their specific needs.

The galvanic isolation on all connections (input, outputs, and power supply) eliminates the effects of ground loops, allowing the converter to be used in harsh environmental conditions found in industrial applications. It is housed in a plastic enclosure with a thickness of 12.5 mm, suitable for DIN rail mounting in compliance with EN-50022 and EN-50035 standards.
