General Description

The DAT4540T Frequency Converter is a high-performance signal conditioning module designed to convert frequency-based signals into a proportional analog output. Housed in a compact DIN rail mount enclosure, the DAT4540T accepts frequency inputs from a wide variety of digital sources including tachometers, TTL logic signals, PNP transistor outputs, and NAMUR proximity sensors.

The device can accurately process input signals over a wide range from 0.1 Hz to 20 kHz. Based on the configured range, the DAT4540T converts the frequency into an isolated analog output, selectable as either voltage (e.g., 0-10 V) or current (e.g., 4-20 mA), making it ideal for interfacing frequency sensors with PLCs, SCADA systems, or analog input devices.

In addition to the analog output, the DAT4540T is equipped with a fast-switching isolated transistor output. This output can be configured for multiple functions such as frequency threshold alarms, signal replication, or pulse shaping applications,  enhancing flexibility for monitoring and control tasks.

The DAT4540T provides galvanic isolation between the input, analog output, transistor output, and power supply, ensuring safe and reliable operation even in demanding industrial environments. This isolation eliminates ground loops and interference, preserving signal integrity and protecting downstream equipment.

Configuration of input type, frequency range, and output signal is easily done via DIP switches accessible through a side panel window. For more advanced settings, the device can be fully programmed via PC software to meet specific application requirements.

Compact and versatile, the DAT4540T is an ideal solution for applications such as speed monitoring, flow measurement, rotating equipment diagnostics, and frequency-to-analog signal conversion in industrial automation.
