General Description

The DAT3580GW Isolated Ethernet Gateway allows Modbus RTU RS-485 serial devices to communicate with Modbus TCP Ethernet networks. It provides seamless protocol conversion, enabling integration between legacy Modbus RTU field devices and modern Ethernet-based control systems.

The DAT3580GW includes an integrated web server, which allows easy configuration of the Modbus TCP IP address, subnet mask, and RTU device parameters. The gateway supports simultaneous connections of up to 8 Modbus TCP clients, ensuring flexibility in distributed control architectures.

Commands received over Ethernet are processed by the gateway and retransmitted to the connected Modbus RTU devices. Responses from the RTU devices are then returned to the originating Ethernet client. With support for RS-485 communication up to 115.2 kbps and distances up to 1200 m, the DAT3580GW can connect up to 32 Modbus devices on a multipoint network.

Additional features include RJ45 Ethernet interface, removable screw-terminal connections, LED indicators for Ethernet link/activity and power, and galvanic isolation on all ports. The device is EMC compliant (CE mark) and designed for EN-50022 DIN rail mounting.
