General Description

The DAT1066 Isolated Temperature Transmitter is a thermocouple-compatible, head-mounted transmitter designed for direct installation in industrial sensor heads. It accepts a wide range of input types including thermocouples, RTDs, resistance, potentiometers, and millivolt signals. The input is measured, linearized, and converted to a 4-20 mA analog output, fully isolated from the input.

Thermocouple types supported include J, K, S, R, B, E, T, and N. For RTD inputs, the DAT1066 accepts Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100, and Ni1000 sensors with selectable 2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire configurations for enhanced accuracy via lead compensation. Resistance inputs are selectable from 0–200 Ω, 0–500 Ω, and 0–2000 Ω. Potentiometer inputs are supported in the ranges of 0–200 Ω, 200–500 Ω, and 500–2000 Ω. The mV input is configurable from –100 mV to +700 mV with a minimum span of 2 mV.

The DAT1066 includes a burnout detection alarm that can be configured to drive the output signal to either high (20 mA) or low (4 mA) on sensor failure. The power supply features a wide tolerance, accepting voltages from 10 V to 32 VDC for flexible installation.

Configuration is performed via PC using DATAPRO software and the CVPROG programming cable, allowing users to set sensor type, range, zero, span, and linearization parameters with ease.
