The device DAT3580 2W is an isolated interface converter between asynchronous serial lines RS232 and RS485 or RS422. It guarantees full isolation between the power supply, serial line RS-232, and serial line RS-485 or RS422, eliminating potential ground-loop effects and allowing the use of the device even in harsh environmental conditions.
It is designed to operate on either the RS-422 full-duplex 4-wire interface or the RS485 half-duplex 2-wire interface, with a baud rate transmission up to 115.2 Kbps. The transmission is asynchronous without the need for setting protocol, data format, or baud rate. Handshake commands (RTS, CTS, etc.) are not necessary on the RS-232 line to control the baud rate.
DAT3000 series devices are designed for easy DIN rail mounting, optimizing space usage. When thermal dissipation permits, the devices can be mounted side by side, significantly reducing space requirements. The connections are made using removable screw terminals, simplifying device handling.
The DAT3580 complies with the UL 61010-1 directive for the US market and the CSA C22.2 No 61010-1 directive for the Canadian market. The device is housed in a rugged, self-extinguishing plastic container with a thin profile of only 22.5mm, allowing high-density mounting on an EN-50022 standard DIN rail.
