The DAT3580-USB/4W Isolated USB to RS-422 Converter provides a reliable interface between a USB port and RS-422 communication lines. A variant is also available for converting USB to RS-485, ensuring flexibility for different serial communication standards.
The converter guarantees full galvanic isolation between the power supply, USB port, and RS-422/RS-485 line. This eliminates ground-loop effects and ensures reliable operation in harsh industrial environments.
The device supports asynchronous transmission with no need for protocol, data format, or baud rate configuration, simplifying integration into Modbus RTU or other asynchronous serial networks.
The 22.5 mm DIN rail–mountable enclosure is made from self-extinguishing plastic and designed for high-density installations. When thermal dissipation allows, multiple units can be mounted side by side. Connections are made via removable screw terminals, while the USB connection is provided at the front of the unit.
The DAT3580-USB/4W is EMC compliant (Directive 89/336/EEC) and suitable for industrial and automation environments requiring robust and isolated USB-to-serial communication.
