General Description

The DAT3580-USB/2W Isolated USB to Modbus Converter provides a reliable interface between a USB port and an RS-485 Modbus RTU network. It guarantees full galvanic isolation between the power supply, the USB port, and the RS-485 line, eliminating ground-loop effects and ensuring safe use in industrial environments.

The converter supports asynchronous transmission with no need for protocol, data format, or baud rate configuration, simplifying integration into Modbus RTU installations. It is particularly suitable for industrial applications where robust isolation and reliable communication are required.

The DAT3580-USB/2W is housed in a 22.5 mm DIN rail–mountable, self-extinguishing plastic enclosure. Multiple units can be mounted side by side when thermal conditions permit, allowing high-density installations. Connections are made via removable screw terminals for the RS-485 interface and a convenient USB flying lead on the front panel.
