General Description

The DAT10017-V is a versatile converter that transforms up to 8 analog 0-10 Vdc input signals into engineering units in digital format. The data are transmitted using the MODBUS RTU/MODBUS ASCII protocol over the RS-485 network.

Communication Protocols

The DAT10017-V is designed to work with the MODBUS RTU/MODBUS ASCII protocol, a standard in field-bus systems. This allows direct interfacing of DAT10000 series devices with most PLCs and SCADA applications available on the market. For protocol instructions, refer to the User Guide of the device.

User Instructions

Before installing the device, please read the “Installation Instruction” section. The device can be configured in two modes: by using the dip-switches located on the front of the device or via software using the INIT mode. To use the INIT mode, connect the terminal INIT to the terminal REF; at power-on, the device will automatically enter configuration set-up (refer to the User Guide for details).

Connect the power supply, serial bus, and analog inputs as shown in the “Wiring” section. The state of the LEDs indicates the working condition of the device; see the "Light Signalling" section to verify the device's status. For configuration and calibration operations, refer to the instructions in the User Guide. The wired terminals can be removed even with the device powered, simplifying handling or replacement.
