General Description

The DAT2166 Dual Channel Pt100 Temperature Converter is a DIN rail mount signal conditioner that accepts two independent Pt100 RTD inputs and converts each to a separately configurable voltage or current output. Unlike loop-powered transmitters, the DAT2166 is externally powered, making it ideal when a PLC/DAQ requires 0–10 V or 4–20 mA signals from two sensors in one compact module.

Each channel is set via DIP switches for coarse range/zero, with fine output trim available using top-mounted potentiometers. The DAT2166 supports 2-wire and 3-wire Pt100 RTDs and delivers stable conversion with ±0.1% full-scale accuracy and < 0.02%/°F thermal drift.

For reliable operation in industrial environments, the two channels are isolated from each other up to 1000 V, reducing ground-loop issues in multi-sensor systems. The device is housed in a slim 12.5 mm DIN rail enclosure (EN-50022 / EN-50035) and meets EMC directive 89/336/CEE.

Choose the DAT2166 when you need a dual-channel RTD converter with the flexibility of current or voltage outputs and channel-to-channel isolation — all in a space-saving form factor.

Frequently Asked Questions – DAT2166

How is the DAT2166 different from the DAT2066?
Both are dual-channel Pt100 devices, but the DAT2066 is loop-powered with two 4–20 mA outputs only. The DAT2166 is externally powered and provides voltage or current outputs per channel.
What outputs can I select?
Each channel can be configured for a current output (e.g., 4–20 mA) or a voltage output (e.g., 0–10 V), depending on the PLC/DAQ requirements.
What RTD wiring does it support?
Pt100 RTDs in 2-wire and 3-wire configurations.
Is there isolation between the two channels?
Yes. The channels are isolated from each other up to 1000 V to help eliminate ground loops. (Isolation to power/output follows the product datasheet specifics.)
How do I configure ranges?
Use the DIP switches for coarse span/zero, then fine-tune each channel with the top-mounted potentiometers while staying within the datasheet limits.
What accuracy and stability should I expect?
±0.1% full-scale accuracy with thermal drift < 0.02%/°F.
What standards and mechanicals apply?
12.5 mm plastic enclosure for EN-50022 / EN-50035 DIN rails; EMC per 89/336/CEE.
